The Eyes That Speak

 Little Lan has big, round, sparkling eyes. People say, "Lan's eyes seem to speak!" Whenever she's happy, her eyes shine like two stars.

When she was sad, Lan's eyes drooped down, glistening as if there were water. Today her best friend didn't go to school, Lan sat quietly by the window waiting for her friend.

In class, when encountering a difficult math problem, Lan looked at the teacher with confusion, her eyebrows slightly furrowed as if asking for help.

The teacher smiled gently, nodding as if she understood the words in Lan's eyes. She approached and helped Lan solve the problem.

The next day, her best friend returned to class. Lan ran to her, her eyes sparkling with happiness. They both held hands happily.

Mom said, “Your eyes can say a lot, Lan: when you are happy, sad, worried or in love.” Lan giggled, her eyes like two little stars.
